The
IECA Foundation was founded in 1996 to support the mission and expand
the role of the Independent Educational Consultants Association.
The Foundation's mission is to create, support and empower those programs
that have the greatest impact on students and their educational environment.
IECA and the IECA Foundation have a unique opportunity, and a special
responsibility, to provide leadership for those involved in the process
of making educational choices, including students, families, educational
consultants and other professionals.
Through its grant giving program, sponsorship of workshops, and continuing
professional development, the Foundation is the vehicle that allows
educational consultants to assist children and families who do not
have access to educational planning services.
The IECA Foundation funds projects that meet the following objectives:
To enhance the public understanding of the processes which
positively affect the emotional and educational development of children.
To encourage and support research on issues directly impacting
children's ability to learn.
To disseminate the results of current research to educational
consultants, counselors and school administrators to further develop
an understanding of the students they serve.
