Tailored Rides

This past year has indeed been challenging.  When the pandemic first hit our area in March of 2020 it was coupled with extreme anxiety. We followed the guidelines of the CDC and suspended our lessons for what ended up being six weeks, though we had no idea the timeline when we made the decision.  Everything about our year was completely up in the air- fundraising, riding, volunteers- would we be able to make it to next year. Getting the email from the IECA foundation to apply for relief funding felt like a lifeline and gave hope to our organization.

The funds allowed us to continue to work and pay for expenses (like horse feed) that simply could not wait.  We developed and implement our Covid-19 strategies, communicated with our donor base as well as our clientele.  We realized during the shut down just how important our work was; receiving phone calls and text daily about families wanting to come out and visit with the horses, just to be at their safe and happy place, Tailored Rides.

As soon as more was learned about how to safely conduct life during a pandemic, we slowly opened back to. Presenting a multi-week road map to ensure that the most vulnerable and at risk clients or volunteers would be cared for.  Tailored Rides used the funding to set up a sanitizing station, purchase masks and other safety materials. As of today, we are 100% back and as grateful as ever for the support of amazing foundations like the IECA! We are maintaining the new sanitizing measures and adjusting to our "new normal".
